As dusk settles over the marsh, two mermaids linger on the dock, their conversation stretching long after sunset. Warm reflections from nearby lights shimmer across the water and illuminate their tails, turning an ordinary evening into something quietly magical.
Part of my ongoing Lowcountry mermaid series, Evening Glow celebrates friendship, community, and the simple joy of staying a little longer by the water. The painting imagines mermaids as locals who share stories, drinks, and the kind of conversations that only happen on warm Southern nights.
