About

Tatiana Tatum (Zalapskaia) is a Beaufort, South Carolina–based muralist and fine artist whose work celebrates the layered identity of the Lowcountry. Known for her playful yet socially aware “Redneck Mermaids” series, she also creates haunting foggy-window paintings and emotive portraits of women in water.

Her art blends oil painting, mosaics, and public murals, often weaving in local botanical remedies, immigrant narratives, and coastal folklore. In addition to her gallery work, Tatiana has created community murals across the Lowcountry and regularly exhibits regionally and nationally. She is represented by Thibault Gallery in Beaufort and Alpha Mare Gallery in Savannah.
