This painting is part of my long-running foggy window series, where images emerge as if drawn in condensation.
Meow from the Backseat captures that blend of intimacy and distance; like a fleeting moment witnessed from behind glass.
Since its creation, Meow has built a notable exhibition history: it received an Honorable Mention from Whitney Museum curator Jennie Goldstein at LBIF’s 40 Under 40 show, was exhibited in Cornell University’s “Magnum O-pspsps” group exhibition, and was featured in both Art Spiel and Lowcountry Weekly. It also appeared in my Featured Artist show at Thibault Gallery in Beaufort, SC.
